Exploring New York highlights cool spots around the city that are worth checking out. Have a spectacular vegan restaurant you frequent? Let us know in the comments.
Toad Style is a tiny vegan sandwich shop located in the heart of Bed-Stuy. They also operate a food truck out of the backyard of Marco’s in Bushwick. Order at the counter and then snag a seat while you wait for the goods. There’s a laid back retro vibe to the place, with old VHS & toys of the past decorating the walls.
Their tasty, made-from-scratch sandwiches are delicious, and if you’re a meat-eater, you may consider converting. They’ll serve any sandwich as tacos or a salad for those of you who are gluten-free. Don’t forget to try a side dish or, if you’re there before 4pm, grab something off the Brunch menu. It’s a little off the beaten path, but well worth it.
Recommendations: The guy behind the counter recommended the Bahn Mi sandwich and it was delicious, as was the [gluten-free] cheeseburger salad.
Cost: Sandwiches are between $7-$11 & sides average about $6.
