Exploring New York highlights cool spots around the city that are worth checking out. What’s your favorite food market place? Let us know in the comments.
Smorgasburg is the largest weekly open-air food market in America, attracting 20,000-30,000 people to Brooklyn each weekend to eat from 100 local vendors under the summer sun. But now that it’s winter and the weather is not well suited for sampling food in the park, Smorgasburg Winter Market moves indoors.
The market, called “The Woodstock of eating” by the New York Times, has a food option for everybody’s taste. From Indian to Venezuelan, Italian and everything in between.
The market is based in two main locations in Brooklyn, Williamsburg and Prospect Park, moving to Atlantic plaza for the winter season only.
While the Brooklyn Flea runs in separate locations in summer, in winter both markets share space at Atlantic Plaza, providing goers with a wide selection of antiques, vintage clothing, hand made art, crafts and more to enjoy as they munch on their Smorgasburg fare.
New York City and gastronomy go hand and hand; Smorgasburg is the perfect place to try all sorts of some of NYC’s favorite eats in one place.
