Swell Dive has become a fast favorite - with their delicious tacos, fun cocktails, and sweet happy hour beer deals. It’s a small space with cool built-in booths, a handful or two of bar stools, and a cozy & colorful backyard. Surf videos projected on the wall, and the kayak hanging in the back add to the surf-shack vibe.

Come early to snag yourself a seat inside & take advantage of those happy hour deals. You should be prepared to wait on busy nights for your Filipino meets Tex-Mex tacos… but trust me, they’re worth the wait! In the meantime, sip your drink and grab a tabletop game from the back shelf to pass the time with friends. Don’t forget to try the hurricane fries!

Recommendations: Any and all tacos - we like the pork sisig and the charred beef tacos & of course hurricane fries (a spiralized potato with the most awesome cheesy toppings).

Cost: Tacos cost around $4.75; cocktails are $10, a glass of wine is $9-$12 and beer is usually around $6/$7. Go during Happy Hour daily from 5p - 8p for $6 Narrangansett + Shot, or $8 for any taco + beer.

Where: 1013 Bedford Ave (between Lafayette Ave and Clifton Pl), Brooklyn - walk from Our Place in 1 minute or less!

More than just funny sandwich board messages and friendly faces, the crew members at Bike Slug are knowledgeable, informative, and will affordably fix your bike.

Planning to cycle in NYC? Like any good bike shop, Bike Slug repairs more bikes than it sells. They do have a small curated selection of bikes for sale, but if you’d prefer something used, we’d recommend to stop in for advice on what kind of bikes to look for (and what to avoid), find your bike used on craigslist, and then stop back in for tune-ups / maintenance / gear.

Cost: A flat fix costs $18.30 including the tube; a full tune up costs $79 on a geared bike and $59 for a single speed; and a brake adjustment runs around $20. Pump your tires for free during open hours.
